Hokkien Pan Mee @ SS19, Subang Jaya

Hokkien Pan Mee
@ Restaurant Lian Heng
22, Jalan SS19/6,
47500 Subang Jaya,
Selangor, M'sia

Business Hours: 8am till late noon

This introduction is nothing new to the neighbours of SS19 and also one of my favourite location for Pan Mee. Apart from those commercialise pan mee you have it from "Face to Face" or "JoJo Pan Mee", this is more traditional manner in preparing it. You can see the cook will pull out the flour dough from the big bowl and start pinching off bits by bits from the silky dough into the boiling soup. Because of this, you will se the restaurant is pack of customers from the time it opens till it finished daily.

Be aware that you need to get a cardboard with number from the stall upon your arrival and wait for your turn before the order is taken. Normally will take you minumum 30 minutes to 45 minutes before your meal is serve and can stretch up to an hour during lunch hours. Therefore, do reach early if you plan to have it during weekdays.

Sugar cane plus Coconut
[You can see all its sugar canes and coconuts are freshly stacked in front of the restaurant and only juice out upon request. This drink is something that you wont get in many places and the coconut does help in reducing the sweetness in the sugar cane as well as ur heatiness while waiting for your meal.]

Simple stall with everything by stratch of hands ease the preparation time.

Hokkien Pan Mee Soup - Highly recommended
[Hardly taste the four flavour because the flour is freshly prepared every early morning by the owner. The minced pork is being cook with mushroom, soya sauce and etc. unlike those normal pan mee stalls. If your a spicy lover then you would enjoy their chilly paste as well.]

Hokkien Pan Mee Dry
[If you fancy the dry more be sure to request for additional minced pork (RM1.00 for a bowl that can be share by 3 to 4 persons)]

Despite the long waiting, you hardly find this smooth handmade hokkien pan mee around and love it since my primary.

[The Authentic Nyonya Cuisine]
No.4, Jalan SS23/11,
Taman Sea,
Selangor, Malaysia

Nyonya cuisines are always one of my favourite preferences and after recommending Amboi Nyonya Restaurant in Melacca, now would like to share my visit to another nyonya dinner in PJ. According to my friend that this restaurant had been around for quite some time and is always crowded with people towards weekend. This is my first time here and order simple dishes for my dinner.

Peaceful decoration with some antique collections
Scale of the restaurant is not very big yet nicely designed like the 90's homie style

Awarded for KL Top Restaurant in 2001/2002

Cendol Melacca Style which crunch your thirst immediately

Pie Tee as appetizer

Chicken in black pepper sauce will just spice up your appetite for the meal

Now is time for some Tom Yam satisfying you sour & spicy delight
(its kind of spicy thus do recommend to reduce the spiciness for those who don't fancy it)

Aromatic Pandan Chicken
(one of the all time favourite whenever in nyonya or thai cuisine)

Seafood Otak-Otak
(nyonya favourite dish)

Its not easy to look out for nice nyonya specialist around PJ and these may just meet what you are looking for. The price seems fair and reservation is recommended during weekends.

Malaysia.

When many mentioned Sunwai Way Bak Kut Teh will mostly direct to Ah Sang Bak Kut Teh which also located just around the corner. This home converted Xhin Fhong Bak Kut Teh restaurant is quite famous around the neighborhood of Sungai Way.

The restaurant business can be quite crowded during lunch hour thus many will give a call to make reservation if possible. One of the pleasant thing about this place is the services which very friendly and generous, as additional soup is served without even asking.

Truely homemade style

Mixed prok ribs, pork hock and pork stomach with vege and mushroom on fragrance BKT soup

Meaty pork hock

Free flow of soup (sweet pork taste) and yau char kuai

Conclusion, is a place worth visting with economical price as credit given to the friendly services and flavourful sweet pork soup (something different as compare to those strong herbal type BKT).
